And every Tuesday and Thursday I have been going to the Wieght room with my track team for half an hour. When I flex my stomach it seems like I can kind of see a six pack, but only when I flex my stomach. With all that information, do you think it is possible for me to get a six pack by the Summer? Also if you have any suggestions about things that I can do better or more of. Thanks alot!

<p>stomach is the easiest muscle to build .. i was the skinniest person on earth i used to wear size XS !! </p>
<p>what you should do is not excercise but TRAIN !! </p>
<p>the difference is excersice will make you loose weight and obviosly u dont want that .. try crunches with weights and other weight excersices for abs .. eat loads of proteins and avoid any sweets, fizzy drinks ..etc eat lots of fruit, fibre ad protein !! </p>
<p>the only thing which wil build your muscles is protein (and water) so get those into your body do some weight lifting and your done !! </p>
<p>if you train ur abs 3 times/week (no more than that) in matter of 4 weeks you could see a big change and in 6-8 weeks you will diffently feel those chocolates !!</p>

<p>some of the best ways to get those lower abs to show is to do leg exercises.  a good one is to lie on your back and pretend that you are pedaling a bike, but at the same time lift your shoulders.  Now touch the opposite elbow to the lifted knee.  If you do this at a fairly good pace you can just feel the burning of those lower abs.  </p>

<p>If you want to gain weight and bulk up to build muscle strength, then you should work towards a slight calorie surplus, while exercising the muscles you want to build up.</p>
<p>Just as losing weight is a simple calorie in and out balance, so building muscle mass is the same equation.  The more energy you take in by the way of food then the more you have to exercise to use it up so as not to put on weight.  Those seeking to lose weight use that equation even thought they might not be aware of it.  If their calorie intake exceeds that used through exercise, then they will put on weight in the form of fat or glycogen.</p>
<p>However, there is only so much glycogen that the liver will store as an emergency energy supply, and the excess will then be added as body fat.  If we look at an alternative scenario, one in which that energy intake is still higher than the energy used in exercise, but that the exercise is taken in the form of some aerobic, but largely anaerobic, exercise in which oxygen is depleted, then the excess calories will not be converted to fat but to muscle fiber.</p>
<p>In anaerobic exercise, there is a depletion of oxygen at the cell level that causes a build up of lactic acid that uses up blood glucose or glycogen (the liver&#8217;s energy store) and converts it to muscle mass.  This is a slightly simplistic explanation, but is basically what happens.</p>
<p>Because the energy in the body that is not used by the normal metabolism is being used instead by the muscles in the anaerobic exercise then the more anaerobic exercise that is used to convert the glucose in the blood to muscle, then the bigger your muscles will get.  The blood glucose levels are determined by the amount of fat or carbohydrate that you eat, and that is converted to glucose by the biochemistry of the body.</p>
<p>In the end, it does not matter where the glucose comes from, so a low or a high carbohydrate diet is immaterial:  you need glucose to live and glucose comes from the calories you eat.  If you eat too many calories by eating Atkins fat, oils or carbohydrates, then you will have an excess of glucose that, once metabolised by the body&#8217;s insulin, will turn into fat.  Insulin turns glucose into energy, and the excess energy is stored as fat.</p>
<p>However, anaerobic exercise creates lactic acid that uses up the excess glucose and turns it into muscle.  That is how to add muscle mass the safe and legal way, and it always works because it is natural biochemistry. The secret is to know what exercises to use, and the best high calorie foods to eat, but chocolate cake is allowed, as is ice cream.  So are high calorie drinks and supplements.</p>
<p>Anybody can bulk up their muscles by following a simple program.  It is neither hard nor does it make you drink high calorie liquids all day.  It does work. There are many such programs online, and which you choose is up to you.  However, make sure that you feel comfortable with what you are doing since many programs are aimed at professional bodybuilders who already have a high degree of strength, or at people who are already highly fit and can carry out the exercises detailed without great effort.</p>
<p>Although most are not designed for you if you feel that you would like to stop being the seven stone weakling, there are those that are, and they can be found as long as you are careful to ensure that the service provided is suitable for you.  That applies to everybody, irrespective of their standard, strength or weight.</p>

<p>Don&#8217;t watch the scales too much. If you&#8217;ve only lost two pounds, but are looking and feeling physically better, then you&#8217;ve probably put on some lean mass (muscle weight), which is a very good thing! Muscle weighs more than fat remember.</p>
<p>A treat once a month is absolutely fine. I&#8217;m on quite a strict gym/eating routine, but I treat myself once a week, and I&#8217;m still reaching my goals, so don&#8217;t worry about it too much. If you didn&#8217;t treat yourself the cravings would get too strong.</p>
<p>As for getting your abs showing, its all down to body fat percentage. People believe that the more sit ups you do, the more your six pack will show. This isn&#8217;t necessarily true. Although doing sit ups and crunches does help with ab size, if you have a layer of fat over the top, they&#8217;ll never show, and you can&#8217;t spot target fat. This means that doing sit ups won&#8217;t effect the fat layer on your belly.</p>
<p>The goal for getting your six pack showing is to lower your body fat via cardio and diet. Make sure you&#8217;re eating well and burning lots of calories through cardiovascular exercise. Once your body fat is low enough, your six pack will start showing. Then you can concentrate on core exercises to highlight your lean belly!</p>

(1) Drink more water, (2) eat six meals a day, (3) and walk about 20 minutes a day&#8230;</p>
<p>I&#8217;ll explain&#8230;</p>
<p>First of all, I joke around and call it the &#8220;water diet.&#8221; It&#8217;s not a diet at all, I EAT ANYTHING I WANT, but first I drink a huge glass of water.  Most Americans are VERY dehydrated, and we perceive it as hunger when we&#8217;re actually thirsty.  Plus, the water will help fill our stomach, so we feel full faster without having to eat as much, and the BEST thing about being dehydrated is that it helps detoxify you and helps you lose weight!</p>
<p>The bad thing about diets:  depriving your body of anything healthy will only make matters worse.  The key comes from the choice of what you eat and when.  I don&#8217;t &#8220;diet,&#8221; in fact I eat anything I want, but you learn to crave the good stuff and dislike the bad stuff over time.    </p>
<p>If you want to lose weight, ALWAYS eat breakfast.  The best thing you can do to help your metabolism is to never deny your body the energy it needs to keep going, and therefore eat little portions of food throughout the day, especially the morning.  It&#8217;s called grazing. So before you leave for school, make sure you eat SOMETHING. You may have been asleep for nine hours, but your body was still on, and therefore burning calories. If you like eggs in the morning, that&#8217;s best, but if not, eat a protein bar or a Lite Yogurt.  Not a protein bar that has weight loss drugs in it, but a healthy protein bar. The trick is to eat something that has at least as much protein or more) in it as it does sugar.  </p>
<p>You may notice you&#8217;ll feel hungry earlier, but that&#8217;s not a bad thing.  Keep a piece of fruit with you at school and eat it between classes. If they won&#8217;t let you, have your parent write a note to the school nurse saying that you NEED to, then they legally have to let you.  Also get a note that says you&#8217;re allowed to have a water bottle with you in class, and drink as much water as you want throughout the day. Then at lunch, try to eat less carbs (for example, only one half of the hamburger roll).  Lunch should be your biggest meal of the day when you graze.  Then when you get home, eat a little something (healthy) immediately.  If you are craving carbs, eat something with lots of fiber in it (it will say on the nutrition panel) fiber helps you lose weight. The homestyle popcorn is a good choice.  Popcorn even has antioxidants in it! But don&#8217;t the whole bag, just about a cup or two (fill up a 1 c. measuring cup). Then eat a healthy dinner, with vegetables (for the nutrients and fiber).  If you don&#8217;t like the green stuff, melt a slice of american cheese on them (like broccoli), that makes them delicious. </p>
<p>When you graze, you should try to eat about a hand-full of food every two hours, so it&#8217;s almost like having 6 or 7 tiny meals a day.  This allows your metabolism to understand that you will always supply the energy it needs in small portions, and therefore you body doesn&#8217;t need to store the food (as fat on your body).</p>
<p>Then don&#8217;t eat anything the last two hours before you fall asleep. If you want desert, drink water first, then eat half the amount of it you would normally, and eat it immediately after dinner, that way you feel full.  Your body stores calories in the form of fat while you sleep, so if you eat something right before bed (especially sweet food) then it WILL store those calories.</p>
<p>See?  It&#8217;s not about eating LESS, it&#8217;s about eating WHEN.  The more you understand WHY your body NEEDS calories, the more you understand how to eat so that it doesn&#8217;t store it in the form of fat.</p>
<p>There are lots of other natural things you can try.  Green tea extract is a very popular weight loss supplement.  But, make sure you buy it from an all-natural place, and it doesn&#8217;t have extra caffeine in it. Green tea has been used for thousands of years and is known as being excellent for helping grow and keep a healthy body.  </p>
<p>STAY AWAY from &#8220;fat-free&#8221;, &#8220;sugar-free&#8221; foods.  There are unnatural replacements in these foods that your body doesn&#8217;t understand how to metabolize, and it ends up hurting your body more, making it harder to lose weight.  If it&#8217;s naturally fat free (like fruit) that&#8217;s fine, but don&#8217;t eat the stuff where they took out the fat and put in a ton of chemicals to make it taste good.  </p>
<p>STAY AWAY from Diet soda.  Research has proven that drinking diet soda actually makes it harder to lose weight&#8211;the sweeteners in it turn into nasty chemicals that make it harder for your brain to perceive that you are full, so you always feel hungrier.  Fast food places put these drugs in their food, too, but they don&#8217;t legally have to  tell you, as long as it&#8217;s less than 2% of the total ingredients. <p>This is great if you don&#8217;t want those bodybuilder type abs. You know, that 6-pack look. You need to maintain the femininity of your abs by flattening and toning them, not bringing out the bulky muscles.</p>
<p>To do this exercise, you simply suck in your belly button and hold it for a set amount of time. Go for 20 seconds. Keep repeating this for a minimum of 5 minutes a day.
